The aim of this publication is to describe 400 of the world’s most fascinating archeological sites.
It will focus on ancient settlements and monuments of extraordinary importance for the comprehension of the great cizilizations of the past. It wasn’t simple choosing them, we’ve included in the volume what we thought are the most important sites from a geographic, artistic, but also architectonic and cultural point of view. All are representative of a civilization. The criteria used to choose the sites are the good state of preservation, the in situ museum information and their easy access.
This publication is not simply a catalog of fascinating places, but also a useful instrument with accurate and updated information, enriched with practical suggestions (eg. the best period to visit) not only for unexperts but also for insatiable, adventurous travellers always in search of new and exciting places.
